Errata, A Poem About Publication and Proofreading

NOW AND THEN‘s been read at least one hundred times

By eyes much keener than yours or mine.

So who is to blame when something’s amiss?

Anyone and no one, but what’s true is this:

It could be the formatter, MSWord or Grammarly,

But readers will rightly or wrongly blame me.

I’m mortified, embarrassed, and losing some sleep.

The curses I’ve uttered would have to be bleeped.

I’m compiling some notes for a second edition

That might just align the book with my vision.

Until then, if an error you happen to find,

remember it’s me and try to be kind.

If you can’t in good conscience become a bit blind,

Just recite this phrase, “Oh well, never mind.”
