Staying focused. I rely on routines and habits for meals and exercise. Coffee. Elliptical & some PT/yoga before breakfast. Then shower and dress. I also make short lists of goals in a weekly planner. Small things. Write a letter. Change the linens. Clean out a drawer. That’s where things get messy.
Today my jobs were to do some research for the nonprofit committee I’m on and make some progress on editing/revising a piece of fiction. Easy enough, right?
But the birds were looking for water in the frozen birdbath outside the office window. So, I had to fill it with warm water to melt the ice. Then I remembered this challenge and needed to write about that. Then I started cooking a chicken breast for a salad I’ll make later. And I really ought to put a few more children’s books in the Little Free Library on the corner. And that jigsaw puzzle on the dining room table isn’t going to do itself.
Once off-track, my mind is hard to rein in. But I’ve got an hour or so before lunch, so maybe I can work on Us, Again for a bit.
As long as no shiny objects, squirrels, or buzzing, beeping notifications distract me. Wish me luck.
Your day sounds like mine. By the way, “Like” isn’t working on my Word Press. Liked⭐️

Hope so. These are nice enough to hang around all year, so I try to help where I can. 🐦⬛🪺
