Yes, but as someone who herself is “a little deaf”, I always miss the IMPORTANT stuff and somehow hear the UNIMPORTANT crap! ;>)
As one who now wears hearing aids, I know the truth of this statement. I used to get a kick out of my dad. When he grew tired of a conversation, he’d reach up, turn off his hearing aid, and smile

Or at least what someone else thinks is important! I choose to be selectively deaf. It keeps my blood pressure down.

My dad wore one hearing aid. When he wanted to take a sleep, he put his “good” ear on the pillow.
